6×8 oil on canvas panel I’m working on keeping it simple. I so easily overwork the painting. I think that for me this involves both “seeing” better, and finding less fussy ways of putting down paint. I admire painters whose work is accomplished with directness of approach, and has the feel of being tossed off with confidence and ease. Take a look at David Koch’s work for an example of these qualities. Scroll down to his little still lifes. Nice, huh?
