8×6 oil on canvas panel The fall colors came late this year, because of the mild fall, but the change has been spectacular. Each time I turn my daily painting exercise to a landscape subject, I’m pleased to see the results of the more direct approach to design and paint application. There’s just not room to get too finicky. This is more the effect that I want to carry over into my larger plein air paintings.
