"Shadowplay" (not just areas without light)

8×6 oil on canvas panel Here are my three apples again (Yes, the starring lady lost her stem in transition.), but this one is about what’s going on with the colors reflected in the shadows. Although the composition is dominantly in a very warm light, it’s intended as a foil for the contrasting cool shadow colors, and their shapes that hold everything together. Here’s one of the late Charles Sovek’s wonderful mini-tutorials on reflected light.
