6×8 oil on canvas panel My usual tendency is to overwork detail, such as in the vase. I’m trying to learn to suggest more than define. I admire the ability of painters who can give an impression of completeness without a labored appearance in the handling of the paint. Take a look at this painting by David Koch a good example of that.
