8×6 oil on canvas panel My intention here was to take a very simple composition and do all I could with a specific color scheme. For those who care about such things, I used a red dominant, analagous with split complementaries and a hint of the blue-purple and yellow-green discords. Maybe it’s a bit much, but it was a lot of fun. Discretion comes with experience, and that’s possibly the most freeing thing about doing daily paintings. No single painting feels like life or death.
