Blossoms Again

8×6 oil on canvas panel This is another update from a past painting that I wanted to revise for the exercise of trying to eliminate troubling weaknesses. You can see the first version here. Mainly, I felt the color statement was uninteresting, the brushwork was clumsy, and there wasn’t adequate difference between the blossoms and their reflections. So, I’ve worked to resolve those things, and feel it was worth the exercise. I’m happier with this version. What do you think?

  1. Hi Jimmy, I think this is a big improvement. The addition of the purple in the background and the brighter green in the leaves, very nice. Barb
